On Sunday 7 September 2025, Will headed to KYN Bickley in Bromley to draw live caricatures for an afternoon event at this beautiful home on the edge of south-east London.
The setting was perfect: elegant rooms, a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of people happy to sit for a portrait. Residents, family members and staff all took a turn in the chair. Each sitting took just a few minutes and produced a hand-drawn caricature to keep.
Why caricatures work so well at events
Caricatures bring people together. A small crowd always gathers to watch a drawing take shape, and the reveal at the end gets everyone laughing. Grandparents and grandchildren had their portraits drawn side by side, and the finished pictures made lovely keepsakes of the day.
